The Jumble Sale

The day started warm and dry then later ……. still warm but wet ….. very wet! This, however, didn’t stop the fantastic people of Haltwhistle turning out to support us.

The only thing that wasn’t there was heavy furniture. After that if you had named it, I’m sure we could have supplied it! All bar the kitchen sink.

Coffee and biscuits were part of the entry fee (£1), with as many refills as you could consume. (We don’t stint folk around here). There was also a cake stall, tombola, books, videos, and a raffle.

Each of the four charities received £430 each, which is excellent.

I’m sure I speak for every charity concerned when I say ‘thank you’ to all those who helped in whatever way they did, but particularly to Joan who allowed us to keep everything in her house. To Christine whose sandwiches were delicious at lunchtime. But mainly to Richard who has organised, collected, and sold items all year round so that we could all benefit by such a large amount.
